Welcome and thanks for posting. You might want to include the merchant information (ebay in this case) in your title.

I guess the 5 year warranty is what makes it expensive relative to other 1500 watt portable heaters.

a 750/1500 w heater nearly tripled my electric bill.

switched to this. run it pretty much 24/7 in winter. adds about an extra $15 in monthly electricity.

https://www.amazon.com/Vornado-VH...BJT0AKZSBH

have it in my 350-sq-ft bedroom now & set on low (375w).

bedroom temp: 75

outside temp: 45

I bought this a couple of years ago, and it was just blowing cold air.

You are simply using a lower setting (375 watt) setting that most heaters don't have
One watt of electric heat is an identical amount of heat among all brands of electric heaters.
1 watt = 3.4 BTU/hour
1500 watts = 5100 BTU/hour
750 watts = 2550 BTU/hour
375 watts = 1275 BTU/hour
around here (Cleveland) 375 watts would work in a bathroom or under a desk.

Looking for something to temporarily heat up my insulated 3 stall garage until I decide if I should put 220 or a gas line out to it. Would this be enough to heat up a 3 stall (mail just need 1 stall semi warm) from roughly 45 degrees up to like 60 degrees?

If you're trying to heat one section of a small room you might have better luck with 1 or 2 infrared heaters since the way that they heat is not through the air but through waves of infrared light. Anything going through the air will disperse through the entire room, so unless your 1 stall is insulated somehow from the other 3 you're going to effectively be heating all 3 with whatever space heater you use.

I picked one of these up about a year ago from a Target clearance for under $50. It works well overall with the exception of the remote. It's range isn't the greatest and requires you to point it directly at it even at just several feet away.

I like it better than previous heaters because the built in fan blows harder and circulates the heat.

And you'll need it. I've been through 5 Vornado heaters now. They last a few months (winter) of running at night and then when you pull them out the next year, better cross your fingers. Their warranty is decent though and they usually don't mind sending a replacement.

First few were overheating and would only run on low. Another had a bad bearing and eventually melted the plug and my socket.

I am actually replacing this model right now. Received as a replacement last year. Ran for a few months at most and just a few weeks ago I woke up to it blowing cold air. Purchased a Delonghi heater from lowes about a month ago to use in the meantime and that one is already making a grinding sound when oscillating. Btw, the remote on this model is more or less useless. Hit the janky plastic button five times before it actually works.

All in all, the warranty is what you're paying for. But be prepared to go without a heater up to two weeks while waiting on a replacement from Vornado.

We have two of these running in our kids' rooms at night. We've had others where the thermostats aren't reliable, but these have been the only ones that hold the temperature well.

We did have one replaced when it quit working after a few days. Vornado's warranty is great and they overnighted a new unit to us. Highly recommend the model.

We use a Vornado for our daughters room too. It works really well. What's nice is its cool touch, metal construction, doesn't tip over. The fan is strong enough to to circulate a small room.

I would not use this for a garage.

I'm on year 3 with mine and currently using it right now. I absolutely love it.

I've had another vornado heater that had a busted thermostat and they sent me a replacement within a week.
