If you don't need it now, I would wait until spring time when the new trimmers go on sale. I paid $149.99 for the 24 inch brushless trimmer with battery and charger on sale. Big difference in warranty, 1 year for reconditioned versus 5 years for new.

Any idea when the spring time sales happen? I'm looking to get a hedge trimmer, a blower and a weed whacker. Not necessarily ego though. Thanks.

I don't know when the sales happen, but I wanted to put in that I love my ego weed whacker. Best one I've ever owned (either electric (plug in before) or gas)

Got this the last time it was on sale. Not sure how much, but it has performed beautifully. The 1 inch cut capacity really helps with thick branches. Pretty much use it as a chain saw for small branches. Just make sure you oil it up periodically.

Oh wow. That's a great review. How long does the battery last? Do you have any of their other tools as well? I don't have any "outdoor power tools" at the moment, so I'm doing a lot of research before moving toward one particular ecosystem over another.

Not hijacking or butting in. I have the string trimmer and this Hedge trimmer, and both are fantastic. I can trim a 100' + hedge that's about 7' high, using one battery without a recharge. That's both sides and the top of the hedge. And yes, the ability to cut through 1" thick branches is a great feature. Also, the autoload feature (15' of string) on the string trimmer is very nice as well as the bump feed to get more string out while weed/grass trimming. One word of advice, go with the Ego .095" string sold by Home Depot/Amazon as it lasts alot longer than generic or other brands. I found other brands break way to easily. Even at $19.99 for 160', it is well worth it.

Thinking about a push mower and this leaf blower, as my next purchases. Only on sale of course.

Another fan here - for those of us with smaller areas to maintain you can't go wrong with this stuff.

I have the previous models of the string trimmer, hedge trimmer and backpack blower and could not be happier. Glad to finally get rid of the gas powered equipment, although they do have their places, just not needed for my situation. Would like to upgrade the string trimmer to the autoload model but will have to wait until mine dies...
