I went into Lowes yesterday and they had a table full of clearance items with a big sign that said 50% off marked price. The manager told me he was trying to get rid of everything. This is probably just my store (Tomball, TX) so YMMV. If you are near a Lowes it may be worth just looking to see if their managers are doing the same.

They are making room for the bulk of the Craftsman tool line. Since there is not a lot of room to put all this stuff, some of the typical things you would find in the tool section will be going as well.

I'm curious if brickseek is reporting these prices for your store or if the manager is just having the cashier discount 50% at time of checkout. I checked the few specific items you mentioned but they show "out of stock" and the prices reverted to the original.

The 10" sliding Miter Saw and Stand seems like a good deal at $149 even. Decent reviews and great for a DIY'er with 12" rip capacity.

The "clearance" section has become the norm since finding the Greenworks snow blower last August, maybe it's been there for even longer.

It's not "extreme", just that items in that section may vary between stores at a given time, but eventually the same product will end up there in most if not all stores.

One Lowes near me is like that with their clearance appliances: when the manager wants them gone, he wants them gone. A sign with "take another 30% (or 50%) off the lowest price". Got my washer and dryer that way, my neighbor got his fridge that way. You gotta get lucky to hit it, tho.

And then there are the stores that look like BigLots. The manager always wants a premium for their clearance items.
