What I mean is that I found a store, by using Brickseek, that carries the desk in stock, but there is no indication of price on Brickseek, unlike how things work with, say, Walmart on Brickseek. When I add the desk to my cart on the Staples website for 1-hour pickup from this store, the price on Staples.com still shows $249. So I'm wondering if only select stores will "discount" the desk, or if all stores universally must discount the desk? I recall that Walmart can show a different price for online order and in-store pickup of items, so maybe the same thing is going on here, where Staples.com will list $249 for purchase online for in-store pickup, but the price for in-person purchase in-store would be the discounted price?

The point of these YMMV clearance items is that your store may not have it at this price, you can't just go in and expect them to charge you the clearance price.
