I've had a few issues with mine where it stops being recognized by the PC, even after cycling the USB cable. It is still supplying power to the devices, but the computer doesn't see a hub. If I cycle power to the hub everything works again. Usually pops up once a month or so - not a big deal but annoying.

That's helpful thanks. I still use an old USB 2.0 hub in my desk because it's bulletproof; thought about upgrading but wouldn't want to give up the reliability since I plug my mouse/keyboard receiver into it.

I actually run into the same sort of problem with the same frequency with a different Aukey USB 3 hub.

Sounds like it wouldn't be safe for external hard-drives then

Dumb question, but is there a specific target group or use for these? I usually don't have more than a wireless mouse, USB stick, and maybe phone to plug in to my laptop. I know it has to be useful, and I keep seeing these from aukley and ankler and they're popular, but what am I missing?

I plan on setting it up in the kitchen, have kids, friends, family just plug in to charge their device
