Just got a price alert from Newegg on this. Either it was out of stock for a while or the price was much higher. Still feel like it's a great deal because it has 4 HDMI ports and a 1.5 year warranty.

Deal is live again.

Search for other past threads on Avera.... or if you are in need for a great budget TV that does 4:4:4 chroma at 4k, then BUY NOW without hesitation.

I JUST JUST JUST bought the Sharp 40" 1080p Smart TV from the earlier deal on BB. Is this worth cancelling my order? I don't really plan on using the "smart" functions since I have a PS4 and a Chromecast already. TV will only be used for PS4 (original model) and Netflix most likely.

[EDIT] Nevermind. Seems this comment has brought out all the rude SDers out of the woodwork.

I own this tv and it's great for it's price. It's no AV gem but if you want to watch big TV.. this is a great dollar value.

What's 1080p? Is that like a VCR or something?

one newegg review said:
" For the enthousiaste that are seeking a good panel for this technology, you are kinda served. It's a Samsung panel (from what I saw on the internet) that is kinda able to output this Chroma. It ain't 100% able to display the correct color but ain't bad as some cheap tv. "

also its not IPS so I'm not sure it would be good as a computer monitor unless you had it further away to mitigate viewing angle problems, maybe the 40" version of this would be better as a monitor.

I don't see any VESA mount options on the back of the TV if that's important to anybody.

1080p is a perfectly fine resolution for a 40". 4K would be a waste on this size, not to mention this is a budget TV.

Could anyone tell me if this TV can display pictures via the USB port? I am wanting to use these for digital menu boards in my restaurants. Any help would be appreciated. I read somewhere that the USB port is only for tech support.

Any reviews anywhere? Doesn't look like something rtings.com would be looking at.
