I won a Weber from a Marlboro contest 20 years ago, It was my favorite, but Webers are way overpriced, you can grill a steak with anything that has fire and not care if it's a throwaway.
I agree the sticker price is pretty high, but the longevity makes the price more palatable if you can afford the up front price. My cheap gas grill was well rusted after two years. I strung along for two mores years. So fours years total. Now I have a Weber gas grill that is 18 years old and after periodic cleaning is as good as new. It was about 4 times the price of the cheap one when new. Not to mention parts are readily available if you do have to fix something. The cheapo gas I think I could get a grate for it if I wanted but deflector etc I had to fabricate myself. The the body fell apart anyway. Just my 4 cents worth.
(With all due respect to Hank Hill)
You only grill over lump charcoal or natural wood.
BS
I frequently use a Big Green Egg but it can't beat the convenience of one of these gas grills. Yeah, grill.

Imagine being as bothered as this guy about the tools other people choose to use that have no effect on your life whatsoever. What a miserable existence.

I'll bet the farm that after 16 years that new Weber will be long gone.
I reminds me of the changes in Kitchen Aid appliances after Hobart sold Kitchen Aid to Whirlpool.
