Anyone have a comment on the 29 piece drill bit set 5889, as far as quality? The $10 q price seems great for a coated bit set, but I was curious on quality. Also, if anyone has first-hand quality knowledge on any of the plier sets that commonly go on sale such as the 6p 46005, 5p 69353, or 7p 69355, that would be much appreciated.

Does anyone have the 2.5 Ton floor jack 68049 for 69.99? It seems to be a rarer coupon among whats out currently. I have plenty of coupons, feel free to ask.

Must had just changed today. You might need to clear your browser's cache to see the updated coupon. When I open the coupon page, it says "HURRY GOOD THROUGH JANUARY" with a expiration date of 1/31/12. Now I'm off to go use it.
Maybe we have 2 different links but I've cleared the cache and restarted my machine since my last post and I still get the same as I did before. I'm on FF now but just tried IE and the results are no different - still shows 20% when you go to print and "HURRY GOOD THROUGH DECEMBER". I will say that the Q's below that all show good through 1/31/13 but the 20% says "VALID THROUGH 12/31/12". Anyone else confirm either of our results?

Here's the link I'm getting sent to: http://www.harborfreight.com/affi...47-01.html

Well I'm not sure why but I'm glad you could post your results. That's some funky stuff. Guess I'll try clearing the cache again later and see what happens. My IE screen shot is below from just a few minutes ago...

My experience has been with the Cobalt set 47653 [harborfreight.com] and they have held up just fine. That said, I think a lot of how well drills hold up, regardless of what they are coated with, has to do with proper application and use. Heat them up too much and they're toast. Lower speeds and the right drill for the material will double or triple the life of even just a decent drill. Also, using a cutting oil when applicable tends to not only keep the drill cooler but helps to suspend shavings and keep them from the area of the material being drilled. FWIW...

My brother has a set of the orange handled pliers but I'm not sure if it was a 5 or 6 pieces to start with since he's now down to just 2 or 3 after misplacing them. I wasn't overly impressed with the groove joint pliers as they seemed to have a lot of "play" in them. The dikes, the linemen and the needle nose seemed decent and did the job but we never abused them either. The slip joints were OK but a little loose like the groove joints. I guess it all depends on your job(s) or application(s). For the money, I'd take the chance. Worst case, they end up in the your car or truck as emergency tools. On the plus side, they are lifetime warranted.

This IS a weird one.
I cleared m cookies in both IE and Firefox but I still kept getting the Expires 12/31 coupon

I then installed Opera and tried the link.
Under Opera the Date IS fixed to Expires 1 /31/13

BUT The coupon is ONLY a 20% coupon

So I guess We will have to keep hoping for a Real 25% coupon.

They've finally purged 25% from the 2 pages.

I like how the coupon expires 1/31 but they exclude black friday sales.

ITC coupon for 7.99: coupon [harborfreight.com]

It's currently on sale online for 8.99, and possibly on sale in a local store. A 20% off coup would bring that down to 7.19.

If anyone is interested in the HF 5 drawer tool cart, I found a coupon for $30 off the current price of $199. The funny thing is, when I clicked the "display coupon" on my ipad, another page opened showing the code for about 1 second and then the page went blank. I used my cell phone camera and after about 8 tries finally got my timing right and snapped the pic. I know this tool cart can be had cheaper but I didn't want to wait around and just got back from the Pasadena, CA HF so the coupon code is valid.

You can use the coupon code of: 64990618. I do not know for sure when this expires but I think it is 01-30-2013 as it lists item #95272 or #69397 on the website generated coupon which is the same 2 item #'s an ebayer has on the coupon for their auction which is a HF generated coupon expiring 01-30-2013.

If you want to visit the site and snap a well-timed pic go here: http://www.ultimatecoupons.com/co...pons.htm#b

Hope this wasn't too confusing, and I hope adding to this thread was the right way to do this.

Cheers

I have a couple sets of the 69353 pliers and they are ok. I've found that there are two different variations of that set; one being chrome and the other oiled steel. The oiled steel ones are imho much better than the chrome ones.

With that being said, I will second Gourty's comments and say that the needle nose and lineman's pliers are the best of the set, with the side cutters being hit or miss as far as cutting quality goes, and then both slip joints being sloppy and can slip when really heavy pressure is applied to the handles.

Has a new coupon shown up for the 44" roller cabinet for $349 ? Last one expired 12/31. I have a $359 coupon......

Thought I would bump this once. The item number is 68784. My assumption was the regulars would know what this was without the item number.....if there isn't a $349 coupon will just purchase it with the $359.

Thanks

Still wondering if anyone has seen coupons for any of the aluminum jacks other than the 1.5T? I'd love something a little lighter than my steel one.

Thanks for finding the coupon but it says right on it that the original needs to be present. Judging by your rep points you saw that though and maybe know something I don't? Can that coupon be printed and used anyway? It expires tomorrow. EEK!

Edit: I see it works online. I would have spent more then that on gas. I'd buy ya a beer if I could. Thanks so much.

But he guys, what do you use these on where you need to have exact torque? Are there instructions inside the case that tells how to use it?
Easy enough to use. I've used it on my lugnuts. Snug them to 80#ft then go around again to final 100#ft. Twist the stud on the bottom to unlock the handle, twist handle to desired torque, twist stud to lock handle. You've reached torque when it "clicks" (which at lower ratings is felt more than heard).

Always store in the case and at the lowest setting on the scale and don't over-loosen it as it may disengage/misalign the internals. Periodically check at 2-3 settings you use with a quality beam wrench (ie 50, 80, 100 for myself, maybe 130+). Beams are more accurate but clicks are easier to use.
