I got a BestMassage chair in 2016 with a long rail that is still going strong.
Can't find the model number but I think it's the ec161 - although that doesn't match what mine looks like. I paid $719 shipped off of eBay for it back in the day.
TIA
I can report that if you have a specific area of concern, these chairs may or may not be able to target certain spots, depending on the range/capabilities of the rollers. For example, I can't get a dedicated high-shoulder massage with mine as the rollers go UP but not OVER the shoulders, or extend much wider than my scapulas. You won't hit everything with a massage chair (even the high end ones), but they do a great job of loosening up muscles within 5-6 inches laterally of your spine, maybe more, maybe less, depending on the chair.
I use mine once every couple of weeks, plus as needed for tightness/tension and ALWAYS get out of the chair feeling better. Haven't been to a massage therapist since I bought it.

VW has V-Tex, don't know if it's close or not in quality.
I think the perfect compromise would be quality leatherette on the sides of seat and leather on center and back. But if you live in a 4-season area, almost any leather will end up showing some wear and seams over time.

The only positive of leatherette is that it is more durable for people that neglect their cars.
No, the leatherette that is on the wife's pair of boots or dress shoes will crack certainly before my 10 year old cowhide leather boots will.
Lesson learned, stay away from leatherette or pleather. Or don't, and then also don't be surprised when they crack.
If your wife would like to try quality leatherette she can check out https://www.uniguide.co
I have had my share of cracked "premium leather" shoes\boots, but as one poster mentioned the technology has come a long way for leatherette and quality varies immensely for all types of leather so just do your research like for anything else. Take care.

Not using grandma's wisdom here, I'm just reading the label on my boots that say it's cowhide leather, but maybe you know better than the manufacturer.
Your link doesn't do much to further your case. When I say workboots, I mean actually working in the field, not skinny-jean wearing, waxed eyebrows kind of 'work' your link points to.
So, back to what I said, animal based leather on workboots is actually very durable, and last ages longer than pleather/leatherette.
