As someone who has had a number of Jos A Bank suits over time, prioritize suits in the Signature Gold or preferrably the Reserve line. Any lines below that are a lukewarm deal at best as you'll likely be unhappy with the quality.

Edit: Also be aware that their traditional fit is very boxy and has very strong shoulder padding, so it will likely look off on anyone with a slim to average build.

Can someone help me with sizes here?
I know I need 44L top, but it pairs with size 39 trousers, while I need 33-34. If I go for separates it goes up in price like 2x+. Is there a way to get combination of sizes I need while paying a low one-suit price here?

My son was in the same situation. The jacket fit perfectly but the pants were too big. We took it to our local Jos A Bank and had them tailored to fit him (for a fee). It looks great now! Happy shopping

Wow really? What if I ordered mine a while ago (~6 months)? Will they still do it for free? Even if it needs to be tapered too or just hemmed?

Everything at Express tends to be a wool blend with a bunch of synthetics, and I've looked at a few which seem to be all 100% fused. On uber clearance they're an OK deal, but most of these Jos a Bank suits are pure wool or at least a blend with natural fibers, and the upper lines are going to be half canvassed.

The only advantage (if you want to call it that) to Express is that they'll be cut in a more contemporary style. Which is a good thing because they likely won't be durable enough to last past the silly trend of ultra-low button holes, pencil thin lapels, and jackets so short they barely hit the belt line.

When buying suits online, I always go up a size. The extra fabric can always be removed by a tailor to fit you perfectly. It's better to have too much, than not enough for your tailor to use. You'll maybe headed to a tailor anyway, because these usually aren't hemmed.
