I've found this on frys over the past two months at 178 and 168 shipped. They have a 30 day price guarantee. I bought for 178 shipped and then called to match 168 two weeks later. When the 158 price showed I called and they matched again, and no one checked whether it was in store or not. Ymmv though but it worked for me.

Were these advertised prices? I have been watching for the past month (since a local guy is selling his used one for $210 and I said I could do better new) but only saw this in-store price. And I assume those were before tax prices?

They were frys emails through the week with an advertised price and a promo code. Sign up for the emails. You get like 5-7 a week check them all. Free shipping. No tax. The deal comes around but you have to be patient to find the 178 or 168 w/ free shipping.

I got lucky. I had this in my cart for the past couple of weeks, waiting for this price to return. At the full price, the option to ship for free was there. I saw the ad come up last night showing the $158 price (in-store) so this morning I went to the cart just to see if the code would allow for the free shipping. I was still logged into my Fry's account when I viewed the cart and surprisingly the sale price was automatically there without entering the code (does it automatically do this if you are signed in and are signed up for emails?). But, the thing that most caught my eye was the free shipping was still an option. I immediately went through the checkout process and got confirmation of my order. Waiting nervously for the shipping notice...

I have to say, on certain dialog listening, the voice sounds muddled to me. I switched back to my old Yamaha center channel and I can hear the dialog better. Dialog from my DirecTV sounds ok, when I try to listen to a Amazon or Netflix movie through my computer connected through my stereo it's hard to make out the dialog and it's just about the same listening to Amazon or Netflix from my TV app (output to my stereo via optical cable).

I've tried tweaking the settings, but can't do anything going from my TV to stereo (via optical cable).

I almost want to get rid of the Klipsch.

Are you sure there is center channel output in the first place? PCM signal only outputs left and right channels. You have to choose Dolby Digital to have at least 5.1 channel.

My experience with this speaker is the opposite of muddy. sometimes female vocal may sound sibilant. Vocal is forward sounding, much more sensitive than my towers. I have to lower its output level to match other speakers. In the future buy a matching pair of klipsch perhaps. But the sibilance is one concern, so I am waiting for rp series.
