This is a great lens. On my D7100 it takes great landscape, and low light shots.
These refurbs were probably returns due to the infinity focus issue which is rather easily fixed using instructions posted on YouTube. I had this issue and was able to make the adjustment. I had this lens, and this issue, but this is a good optic. Very solid. I also saw the (out of stock) 11-20mm f/2.8 listed there. It is a newer design with a little better image quality, and $80 more. So if/when either of these two lenses are back in stock, they're both excellent wide options for APS-C shooters. Much faster than the Canon f/4.5-5.6 10-18mm that's fairly common.
