I saw another post die a few days ago and everything reset to $400+. I was disappointed that I missed it and set an alert for the next time it hit this price, but before I received any alerts, I saw that B&H had it back down to $299 starting today, so I shared it.

This community has to get over the ridiculous idea that somebody sharing a deal, some how wants something. What do people even get for sharing these things, it seems like most of the time it's just somebody giving you grief, because you tried to help them save money!

Agreed fully. We aren't compensated and who cares about absurd token economy rep and the like. Just post deals and hopefully people can save money.

One of the best headsets around. Great picture, extremely limited screen door affect, plug and play out of the box (easiest setup of all three major VR headsets), lighter than the first gen, works with Steam VR AND Oculus games, and has a pretty good set of built in headphones to boot.

For me, it's very comfortable. Not THE most comfortable one on the market, but comfortable nonetheless. Controllers aren't bad, but they're not great either. They're light and feel a bit cheap. They slide out of your hands pretty easily. You get used to them, but they aren't anywhere near the Oculus and Vive ones, in terms of build quality/ease of use.

Overall, I use the Odyssey over my Oculus and Vive. Versatility and picture win out for me over controllers, comfort. The Vive and Oculus are only used when I play for 2+ hours.

Picked one up before they had to be backordered for 1-2 weeks from B&H, first VR headset and I'm pretty excited after looking up the reviews.

Seeing posts that a VR cover should be purchased as well, its $29 or so, also a head strap for $28 don't have the exact links but some quick google search will yield results.

Also no tax for me since I'm in CA

I have the non plus model and this thing is great. I had an oculus rift previously and had to return it because it wasn't comfortable and screen door effect was terrible. The odyssey, at least the gen 1, is very comfortable and doesn't have as bad of screen door. Not having to have light houses or whatever is also nice.

I've had this for several months now (the original version). The nose is the only part that's not comfortable for me. There's little padding around the nose, so the weight of the headset presses against the bridge of the nose making it uncomfortable.

Besides that minor gripe, this is a fun headset. I downloaded games and experiences both through the Windows 10 store and also via Steam.

To start out, the two best apps that gets lots of wows from friends is The Blu and Google Earth. I've had friends spend hours exploring Google Earth in VR. Steam also has several immersive videos made by Google that are nice.

Does it do that thing where it sits on your nose and makes it a little hard to breathe? I returned the ASUS VR set because of that issue. Would be a dealbreaker for me

It does put pressure on the nose like that, yes (at least my first gen does)

Picked one up at my local Fry's on Saturday for the same sale price ($299).. so far its OK, not sure if its worth keeping as its not as comfortable as the PSVR headset.. my wife and I like to play beat saber, and while the screen/video quality is better, I'm not convinced its worth it so far. I find the PSVR tracking of the controllers seems to be a bit better. Not sure if I'll be keeping it or returning it quite yet.
