The metal is thin, but for those that plan light use, it meets the need. I would not recommend it for heavy use.
I'm suspecting it may be some kind of "profit scheme"...where they sell stuff for a bit more than it costs to make and bring to market... 🧐

Doesn't the one always on sale at Sears not have the ball-bearings? Just asking because I bought the one from Sears and it does not have ball-bearings. But it's been a while since I got mine.
The one from sears was also made in the USA and probably better quality. I'm not sure what Lowes is doing, making all Craftsman low quality junk now?
