This whole 20XX series has been a disaster for NVIDIA, and its failing stock value just confirms it.
Performance gains are small, prices are sky high and quality is inconsistent at best. DLSS is disappointing, rays are just a gimmick at least for now.
I feel it is better to skip it altogether and wait for next 30XX series or AMD alternative.

Falling stock has nothing to do with it. That's all due to a flat crypto market. Next few quarters will b more telltale.

I disagree that Ray tracing is a gimmick ...the results look amazing and further prove that lighting is much more important than resolution and textures when it comes to immersive graphics. AMD is investing in the same tech, and not as some gimmick. Watch the footage from metro exodus and even the Doom Ray traced videos... Tell me that's not true next Gen.
The only issue is price and lack of support. Support is coming...developers and competitors are seeing its value.

Exactly this.
If you have anything 1070 and above theres really no need to upgrade imo. Or try to look see prices on BH Photo since they don't charge tax outside of NY and tax on things like GPUs will make deals seem less slick.
