I was at Walmart and noticed that these mountain bikes were on clearance. Can't comment on quality but if someone needs a nice cheap mountain bike one of these would probably do the trick. One thing to note, the womens bike has a different item number online than the item number on the tag in store. Item number in store was :565429955 in case the picture does not come through clearly.

    Grabbed one of the women's Roadmasters. It will be a throw-away grocery-getter that won't break my heart if/when it gets stolen on a trip to the store.

    Added the 2-year "Protection Plan" for $3 at checkout which is a Square Trade warranty. So when something breaks on this cheap thing (and it will), maybe I'll get a replacement. laugh out loud

    I've been buying a bunch of the clearance bikes. They're garbage but for new riders they do ok. Scored a women's Schwinn for $49 from $198. Has disc brakes which is cool I suppose.

    And again, brickseek is exactly accurate to Walmart inventory. It's lazy Walmart employees who don't properly zero out items they return to the vendor or that are stolen (yes it's hard to know when it's stolen, but they supposedly do inventory counts every 3 months).

    As I mentioned in the other thread about these, my local location had four of each, all assembled. Definitely crap bikes, but can't argue with the price. Didn't feel like trying to shove them in my vehicle, so passed.

    Sigh, I grabbed one. Decent Bike for what it is.

    I understand that the winner of last year's Tour de France rode a similar model to victory. Literally picked it up at Walmart the morning the race began.

    One side benefit of these bikes is the great weight training workout they give you.

    I'm an admitted bike snob, but at this price, you can't go wrong if you need something to tool around town or campus. If you're handy, you should go through the bike and either reassemble or at least tighten and adjust everything. While these are low quality, I think a bigger problem is poor assembly by the employees.

    You can't expect $3000 performance out of a $30 bike.
    So those guys complaining about weight and quality please keep it for yourself.

    These bike are great for rides around the neighborhood with your kids or small rides to the park and getting groceries like another member on top said.

    What else do you want out of a $30-$35 bike???

    I can swear that the roadmasters are the crappiest bikes. Have owned one before and it's worth no more than $30. Every couple of days the tire deflates.

    This is 100% correct. Every time I can't find an item I really want I can get a worker to pull it up on their handheld and it has never differed from brickseek.
