This is a FYI for people who are interested in a CHEAP ($20 per month)Unlimited Plan through AT&T. The UConnect plan via the ZTE Mobley is back for a limited time. Currently, AT&T is sold out of the device (and its not certain if they will getting them back in stock). but you can still get the plan if you can come up with the ZTE Mobley device. You can still find a handful of the devices on eBay currently. The cool thing about the device is that people have figured out how to create adapters so the device can run off a wall outlet.

Per the wonderful website, RVmobileinternet.com you need to call a special ATT number to get the deal as it a special promotion. Below are the two numbers they listed on the website:

Primary Phone Number: 855-894-9945

Secondary Phone Number: 866-662-4548

HERE ARE LINKS TO THE RVMOBILEINTERNET SITE WHERE THEY DISCUSS WHAT THE MOBLEY IS AND HOW TO GET THIS DEAL:

https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/...-of-stock/

https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/...-campaign/

You can read about the device on several active forums too. Howard Forums is probably one of the best!

I am sorry you got the run around. Please post how your experience goes the second time; the plan is definitely still in the system as of earlier this afternoon.
Should the first operator be able to do everything and not transfer out?

Yes. If you call the number from the wiki. I had to be persistent with him at first because he was going to transfer me out. When I told him that it was the UConnect plan for Chrysler with the ZTE Mobley, he ended up finding right away after that.

The person that answers the promo number can help you, no supervisor needed, so definitely don't have them transfer you out as I wasted 45 minutes going that route earlier today.

Just added a second mobley to my (mobley only) AT&T account. Let them know you already have a mobley, as they are out of them now. Followed what Bill has been saying and I was off the phone the second time in less than 15 minutes. The rep said the promo had been very popular, ballpark they sent out around 40,000 emails and had nearly half that many people call in.

Do you or anyone else have more information as to why USB connection from Mobley to the router hangs for several seconds, randomly, when connecting via wifi to the router?
I'm experiencing this (for several months already).
I thought it was the router, but I also changed to another router, and exact same thing happens.
The computer connected via ethernet (wired) to the router doesn't experience this issue, only the clients (computer, laptop, phone, etc.) connected via wifi to the router.

As you said, setting the router as repeater works better, but then I experienced that Mobley would hang completely after a few days of use, requiring a reboot.

I lknow someone who was having what I think was a similar issue where he was browsing the internet connected to a router/hotspot set-up and web pages would stop loading randomly. It was happening a couple times a day to them. It ended up being a router issue (DNS issue). He resolved it by upgrading the firmware on the router (I think the router was an Asus RT-AC68U).

You've hit on a big reason why many/most people eventually find it best to move the SIM into a different hotspot device.
So I guess no settings tweak to fix this...

Thanks, but I already tried even different routers. Also changed the DNS (tried Google and others). Always same results. Has to be something in the Mobley.

Weird that the wired connection to the router works perfectly, but the wifi clients hangs sometimes. So it is a mix of Mobley being USB connected plus wifi clients connected to the router.

I was just able to get signed up using billbraskey's instructions -- called the # & referenced the UConnect Plan for Chrysler with a ZTE Mobley. It took me about 6 tries -- several reps said I had to sign up in store, others transferred me to the Car Connect dept who also ultimately referred me to the store. Finally got one on the main number (no transfer) who was familiar with the plan. She first told me they were sold out so she couldn't help, but since I have a Mobley she was able to get me signed up. They'll be sending me a new SIM... said the one that came inside won't work.

Thanks for the info OP & billbraskey - reps incoming.

edit: billbraskey IS the OP! Whoops! Still, here's some reps. Smilie

I haven't played around with this, but it could be something with default packet size on Ethernet vs wifi clients. It's not something you can change on mobile devices.

An earlier poster suggested using a timed switch on the power source so it automatically power cycles once a day at a time you won't be using it.

Thanks OP! After a couple of failed calls and transfers on Monday, I finally found time to activate it today after someone posted the deal was dead. It is still alive and well.

I called the number OP posted and said what OP asked us to say "I want to sign up for the UConnect Plan for $20/mo for unlimited data for my ZTE Mobley". It was easy from then on. I did hit a snag where they couldn't approve me over the phone and I had to go in store but I asked if I could use my wife's info instead. He said sure and he would call my wife to get it setup. 1 hr later he called and my wife went through the process of providing the information needed to set up.

I already had a Mobley I purchased 2 years ago that was never activated and box never opened. He said he would still have to send me a sim as part of the process but the Mobley would be activated today with the sim in the box. When the new sim arrives, I can toss it away he said.

okay... finally got "peggy" to find the $20 connect a car promo. I was charged a $30 activation fee? Anyone else?

SIM being sent in 2 to 3 days.

Victory! Now my kids can do what ever they want as we travel around on vacation!

I did ask.. "Under what menu did you find the promotion under?" (In hopes I can help others) but she waved me off.

Side note - I also have a Velocity.

I also have had a Mobley plan since last year, SIM in both the Velocity and Unite. Works great. This is my second Mobley SIM. I activated using the IMEI of my original Mobley, btw. $20 a month, no activation fee.
