DEAD

pdf of the deal page attached

overall t-mobile deals: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-37215

Deal originally ended 3/21 but has been extended to 3/28. http://membershipwireless.com/content/offer13

1. costco flyer from t-mobile site doc, officially good through 3/28: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs...medium=SMS
2. t-mobile: it ended yesterday 3/26
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs...medium=SMS

Costco membership is needed both at the wireless kiosk and at checkout (when you pay).

Quote :
JimboFX: Besides the phone is locked to T-Mobile. It can be unlocked after 40 days though.
Quote :
slade123: In the previous Costco deals, it was the T-mobile Essentials plan, which costs about $100 per month for 2 new lines. They give further discounts if you're a veteran or over 55 IIRC.
At the kiosk, must have IMEI number of phone you are trading in. The rep may either ask or want to verify the condition of that phone.

Similar deal at T-mobile retail store, but that rebate is provided by monthly bill credits. Costco rebate is by prepaid Mastercard.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What do I need to do?
Purchase a new qualifying Apple iPhone X, XR, XS, or XS Max at Full Retail Price (plus tax) during the promo period.
Activate at least 2 new voice lines for new customers or add on at least 1 new voice line on an existing account. Any voice rate plan is eligible.
Trade in a paid-off, eligible Apple iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus, or X in good condition.

===========================
General information compilation
===========================

Here is a sheet guide based on information I collected today on this deal, both in-store, online, and talking to reps to the best of my knowledge

Steps:
You must have an old iPhone to trade in to use this deal. If you don't have one, you can't get the deal.
It is recommended to use the cheapest and oldest iPhone (an iPhone 6) to take advantage of this deal, as you won't get much back out of it. Most estimates are around $50-60 for the phone in good, working acceptable order at this time.
You need to be ready to open (2) new lines on a T-Mobile account, or add (1) new line on the T-Mobile account. You must be the original account owner, or be an authorized user on the plan to make changes on your account.
When you are ready with both 1 & 2 from above, you are ready to go buy at Costco.
At the wireless kiosk and you have the option of purchasing the following, which seem to be mostly 64GB available at the moment. It is unknown if all stores are carrying 128, 256, 512GB versions.
iPhone X (if in stock, not all stores have it available)
iPhone XR
iPhone XS
iPhone XS Max

After you have made your choice, you can either get the option to make the new t-mobile account or add one to your existing account. It runs about $120 for 2 lines at the general plan, or ~$40 (I think?) for adding a new line to an existing account.

Per Jonnyjett: OR, if you plan on cancelling the service as soon as possible, and want a plan that costs the least amount of money, then sign up for the "Talk and Text Only Plan", which is $20/line and includes all taxes and fees. Kiosk may have to call Tmo to get this option.
<<< some reported that it doesn't work: https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=126426298&postcount=1967
If you want to add it to an existing account, you have the option to drop an existing line/phone number and you can re-add this promotion as a new number so you don't have to pay for an additional line. <<<< not sure definitions of "drop" but please note the
90 days clause

Per Jonnyjett: If you have a good grandfathered account, with perks that you'll lose by adding a line, or you have a "business account" or "business rate" (which is code for discounts that can't be replicated and a plan that can't be messed with), then request either a whole new account, or request a "sub account". With a "sub account" you can have a plan like the "Talk and Text Only" Plan, and it won't screw up your grandfathered plan. And you can cancel your sub account without any ramifications to your grandfathered account. Kiosk may have to call Tmo to get this option. The only question is, does a sub account require 1 or 2 new lines? I opened 2 to be safe. Besides, you make a $50 Costco Cash card by BYOD on the 2nd line. So you're $10 ahead on the deal.

You cannot add a new line if you are at the limit on your plan (10 for general family plan)

Kiosk rep will print out invoice for you to pay at cashier.
After you pay cashier and get new phone, go back to Kiosh rep.

The Kiosk rep will verify your trade in, and input the IMEI and information of the trade in phone.

At the end, Kiosk rep will print out a Shipping label and receipt with IMEI of old phone.

Give it 24hrs, then register for rebate online: https://promotions.t-mobile.com/OfferSearch (Enter new line info)
You ship off the old phone + receipt inside box on your own.
Just ship the phone, nothing else. Make sure you wipe it (Find My iPhone is turned off).

The trade in is worth -$x off your rebate. i.e., if you get $50 for your iPhone 6, you will get ($750-$50) a $700 rebate gift card in return.
The rebate comes in a credit giftcard, mastercard from what I have noticed. Some other options people are getting is $750 in bill credits instead.
The deal was originally from 3/20-3/21, but the website has now been updated to 3/21-3/28 http://membershipwireless.com/content/offer13

exact official wordings of 90 days clause:
Since a new line activation is required for this offer, you can't cancel a line with the intention of activating a new line just to take advantage of this offer. If a line has been canceled within the past 90 days, it must be resumed before you can add a brand-new line to qualify.

Wonder if costco knows about this, since wireless company is an approved 3rd party, and banning customer is SO UNcostco like, in terms of customer relationship and reputation.

I was just on chat with T-Mobile for another item and I asked about the $20 talk and text plan. They told me that plan is not eligible for this promotion. Definitely a risk if you go that route. For me, not worth it so I'll do Essentials.
Not sure chat reps would know the exact answer either. But the return policy is 90 days with Costco, so you'd know whether or not the deal worked before then. Not much risk except to return the iPhone if you don't get the $750. Oh yea, losing your trade phone too. Yikes!

What did the Costco lady mean? The promotion will be extended to 03/28/2019 as the website?

Idk. I asked if it would be extended. She didn't know but that tomorrow would possibly be a new promotion.

I asked if I could return phone, cancel and take advantage of new offer if better. She said I could but that sometimes the hassle isn't worth it.

Couple more things I noticed:

Costco allows 90 day return on phone.

Check your plan benefits. Mine has Netflix for free or premium plan for $3.
WTF!!! I've been paying for Netflix premium without knowing this

Thank you so much for your response.
Costco accept 90 day return but T-mobile does not. It is only 14 days to return.
It happened to me last time. I returned the phone after 15 days and they denied it.

Yes. Any phone needs the paperwork from the kiosk guy before returning at customer service center

It's 30 days with the phones. You can't return it if you already applied for the rebate

So I searched "Flexpay" (one word) and got nothing, but "flex pay" did bring up your post after the fact. Note to self - try different variations of spelling.

Anyway short version of events - Costco Rep and I called T-Mobile rep who told him to sell me the phone and then she added the new line with the new IMEI and Sim #. But then because I was doing a trade-in T-Mobile rep said we had to return the phone then re-buy it as an upgrade/trade in. The two of them argued about that for about 10 minutes, but then the Costco rep agreed and everything got processed. I do have the RMA worth $27 from Assurant and the Costco promo paperwork. I was lucky that I only worked a half day today so the store wasn't busy and T-Mobile wasn't busy at 2pm. The T-Mobile rep stayed om the phone with the Costco rep and me for about 55 minutes and waited to make sure I had all the right paperwork. The Costco rep was equally accommodating. No real complaints other than the time it took because of a discount on my account through work. It's not a corporate owned account, it's an employee negotiated discount, and the hassle that T-Mobile put on it is nuts.
i had the similar issue back in December not able to add line , saying flex pay..

workaround is have the Costco rep call the Costco wireless support and they will add a new line using Costco rep code and then the Costco rep can order phone for you. it worked for me and also go rebate for the similar promo last time. calling t-mobile support will not work.

Can someone help me please.

I would be a new customer to T Mobile and here is my situation:

I have 2 phones to trade in (IPhone 6 plus and IPhone 7 plus) and my question is -- If i add 2 lines of service and with that can i get 2 new iphone XR's and submit 2 rebates for $750 each.

Thank you
I don't think so. I haven't asked about that but the promotion says "Limit of 1 free or discounted device per account.".

Yes, bring another phone. I think you can submit a $50 Costco cash rebate if you bring your own device. I'll upload the picture once I get home

Nice thanks!

I noticed in previous promos folks mentioned getting a SIM ordered via mWorks to get the extra dollars from them, and then buy the phone at Costco without a line activation, using the SIM ordered (all done within the promo period of course). Anyone know if that worked or if a Costco line activation is required?

I was banned by the Regional manager for unknown reason. The sale was almost completed, I paid for the phone, they added a line. Then the rep received massage and phone call from Regional manager to refuse the sale. That Regional manager was at Christiana Costco I posted in earlier post. I called that guy number but no response yet.

Can you go into more details? How did they know you were purchasing a phone? Have you done this promo before ?

Try a different Costco?

But, I am curious to know what you did before to cause a ban. Canceled the line too early?

The rep at previous costco- Christiana could not add a line to my account. I suggested him to call Tmobile customer service but he denied. Then I called Tmobile customer service to talk with that guy he denied again. Then the manager appeared and I let the manager talked to Tmobile cs. I heard he said to Tmobile rep that I took advantage of this deal then cancel after i get the rebate card. After all, tmobile rep told me tried another costco or went to Tmobile store to do this deal.

My account is Tmobile One no credit check, 8 lines. My family member did this deal on January 2019, we haven't cancelled the added line yet.
