Still haven't gotten the $150 Slickdeals rebate from the AMEX card deal from a month back...
Vanguard money market is about 2.49% or so currently. Places like Cit bank is around 2.45%. Other places have 2.3-2.4%ish accounts. Purepoint has a no-penalty CD at 2.6%
But with 20K to play with, you may be better off doing the bank bonus game -- Discover/Capital One/HSBC checking/Citi and so on.
I checked our system and your approval is showing up on 3/8. You should receive payment by early next week.

Could you point to anything in the tax code that would quantify this as anything other than a de minimus gift card?
How about we do the reverse? How about you point me to the section that EXCLUDES this as income which needs to be reported? Hopefully you weren't referring to this section.
thanks for the responses. I wish we can just get an official response from slick deals regarding this
Just an fyi, IRS does not have a magic lamp, in this case SD needed the SS numbers of everyone who recieved this money to report it to the IRS and then also mail everyone a 1099 form before Jan 31st.
This promotion was not offered by the HSBC, and for the sake of the argument if even it was, they never issued any 1099 either. By IRS rules, if you get over $10.00 the bank COULD report this as income and is then required to issue a 1099.
Some monetary gifts are tax exempt, check with your tax advisor in this case instead of relying on these comments. 😍😍😍

SD would only tell you if they were sending you a 1099 (they are not). They would NOT give you tax advice. The go to line is exactly what the poster below said. Contact your tax professional.

I applied and was approved for HSBC saving account on 5/5/2020. I filled and was accepted the $125 bonus form with SD on 5/5/2020. It's been more than 60 days and no bonus in my Paypal account. I emailed SD more than 15 times asking for status of refund and no one replied. Please help

Did you keep screenshots of all your application pages? I always do that as a backup, for times when I don't get what they promised.
