Andrew Lippi, 59, was accused of stealing about $300 worth of household goods from a Kmart in Key West, where police said he purchased various items between March 30 and April 4, replaced them with cheaper items and returned them for a refund. Lippi made headlines last week when he purchased Thompson Island, a private estate formerly owned by the philanthropist and developer Edward B. Knight, for $8 million.

"In another case, Lippi is accused of buying a Keurig coffee machine for $150 and then returning for a full refund a box containing a basketball.

Police said Kmart employees noticed the box had a basketball inside instead of the coffee machine and contacted the loss prevention officer." Roll
This reminds me of buying one of the smaller model PSones from Hill's (or was it Ames by then?Scratchhead). Anyway I get ready to pay and notice the box seemed bulged outward all around.

I noticed the factory seal sticker was missing on the box too. So I asked the employee to open it before I paid.

Somebody had stuffed an original model Playstation (about 2x the size of the PSone) in there and thrown in an old controller and nasty looking wires.Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) I guess maybe they had Stevie Wonder working at customer service the day that thing was taken back without being fully checked.LMAO

God, people are pigs. Mad I do marvel sometimes at the creativity of others when it comes to shoplifting.
