Andrew Lippi, 59, was accused of stealing about $300 worth of household goods from a Kmart in Key West, where police said he purchased various items between March 30 and April 4, replaced them with cheaper items and returned them for a refund. Lippi made headlines last week when he purchased Thompson Island, a private estate formerly owned by the philanthropist and developer Edward B. Knight, for $8 million.

Or better, how about the zillionaires that brag about how hard they have to work for their zillions.....really?
Cry me a river.....
Police said Kmart employees noticed the box had a basketball inside instead of the coffee machine and contacted the loss prevention officer."
Fact is, most crimes (especially minor shoplifting) are spontaneous. I worked on a military base for years and have seen officers steal $20 DVDs, risking their career and civil and federal charges.
I understand this was obviously premeditated (if true that he switched items and it's not just the Kmart employees trying to make headlines), but criminals come from all walks of life. It's just the richer ones usually try to sweep it under the rug.

Large bags of shredded cheese and Tide detergent are some of the most stolen items
