Probably not hard just time consuming.
Planning to make a custom bean bag and use an electric knife to hack it into small cubes, might be more work than it's worth to buy shredded memory foam. Preshredded in the amount I need is expensive to fill two bags.

I would suggest Latex pads instead. More costly for sure but no sweat and they last much longer. They will transform a bad mattress into a good one if 2" thick. They do not form to your body but are very comfortable.

Costco used to have a set of two shredded memory foam pillows for $10. I don't know if they still carry them or not but if you have a membership it could be worth taking a look.
