If you are talking about Amex points in general (rather than just on Amazon) by far the best way to spend them is on flights. You can easily get more than 5 cents per point depending on what you book, granted it's only valuable if you travel.

Or which specifically gives more than 5 cents per point

Usually you only need to redeem 1 point on the purchase to be eligible for the promotion. So, like, total is $100, you redeem 1 point, get the 25% off, and pay $74.49. Which makes the value ~1:2500.

Not true 5 cents if you have the best luck like first class intentional if you can book with 160000 points or something other than that no way

Yup! Points guy valuation is somewhere around 1.4 cents per point.

Transfer Redemption is best, then try for Amex Travel or GC redemptions at 1 cpp.

Either way the best redemption is what works for you.

Source: enjoyed Europe last summer almost all on points flying in business class.
