The chair only runs for 15mins and then requires a 30min cool-down before starting again

I don't believe that's the case. Where are you seeing that mentioned?

Several reviews mentioned that.

30-minute cooldown is ridiculous to me. I always sit on my massager for way more than that. I and my wife took turns too when we sit through movie. Why would anyone design this? Does it really generate so much heat? or the designer thinks this is too harsh for people?

From what I remember, I thought it was a 30 minute cool down for yourself. I have one and it has no problem turning back on after the 15 minute timer and using again. I've usually go for for 30-45 minutes each time I use it

Not according to reviews... you actually have to wait for 30 minutes before you can use it again. That's why I think it's ridiculous.

Same here. It shuts off after 15 mins but re starts right away. I usually fall asleep by then anyway

Sounds like I can restart it if I want to relax longer than 15 mins. Though one review stated the calf massage is non-existent and I would like that feature if it's going to take up some real estate in my 1BR apartment. Anyone have more recent experience with this?
