If you are a single person watching something and your seating position is centered on the TV... Then yes. Put a family of 5 in front of a curved tv and you have the majority of the family with worse seating positions. Curved monitor is one thing, curved tv is another.
Buy a new one and return it right back at the cust service counter with the old receipt

uh curved is objectively better. The problem is that they always charge more for it. It should be standard with any TV at this point.

I find it hard to compare these TVs like the ratings don't seem better then the $250 fire tv but I would expect this to be in a different class.

The viewing angles of curved tvs have gotten much better recently compared to how they were when they first were hitting the market. Kind of like the burn in problem of plasmas originally and that stigma stayed with them even though later models it was pretty moot.

This one in particular has much better viewing than some of the others I looked at. Most of the time I'm going to be in front of it anyway and that extra depth you get sometimes while watching movies and gaming is great.

Can't find anything at Wally's or other sites regarding the degree of viewing angle to know how bad it might be for anyone not centered on screen, or anything about native/max contrast ratio. Does anyone know?

Bought the TV last week for $470. Saw the price drop and went to Walmart for adjustment. Walmart wants me to bring the TV in to do the adjustment. So I am going to risk breaking a CURVE TV out of the Box and and on its stand to get the price difference? I told them they have the order number, my credit card and their response was it's store policy to bring in the merchandise for the price adjustment. Talked to the "Store Manager" and told them I wanted to speak to the "real" manager, and she said she was it. I then asked again, and they went to get a higher manager. Told them I was going to buy a new one and return the one I opened up and they would have to deal with an open box item. They said they were fine with that. Go figure. Walmart.com 800 number stated if I didn't do store pickup and had it delivered, they would have did the adjustment with no problem, and stated all stores have their own say on how they do adjustments. They agreed the store was being ridiculous. Decided just to do a Citi Price Rewind for the difference.
