14 piece set Includes:
1 Base station
8 Contact sensors
2 Motion detectors
2 Keypads
1 Range extender
1 Echo Dot 3rd Gen
several issues that I needed workarounds for:
1) motion detector keeps reverting back to most sensitive setting after being changed to middle sensitivity that is supposedly pet friendly.
2) keypad goes to sleep mode and disconnects from base station without any indication or change in status lights after being on constant power for a few months. needs to be reset to reconnect. known issue with no fix discussed in several forum threads.
otherwise I like the system and it is user friendly.
To disarm you must speak your 4 digit keypad. Would sound like "Alexa disarm Ring Alarm" Alexa responds "Please say your passcode". Once you say your passcode, the system disarms.

I don't have the Alexa app or a Dot for that matter. I was asking b/c if that is an option I'd consider getting one for that reason; glass breaking. Thanks.
Supposedly Amazon does forward alerts on to Ring. Don't quote me without verifying though.

What did you put as the reason for return? Did you have the return shipping deducted from your refund?

Smart

I like OP's deal. (I have Ring Security and it Rocks) I just think others should not be being 18 contact sensors, etc. The Sensors are huge (You can remove the magnet and paint it, to reduce the footprint and give a cleaner install. You can not silently arm and disarm the system when other members of the house are sleeping (There is a long work around for this) and other first generation bugs.

OP thanks for posting the deal, keep up the good work.
That is my main complaint. The sensors are a little too big. I think reason is the battery that it has help the sensors to last longer but i wish they were smaller. In some cases you have to really work things to fit it on certain window frames.

My new home won't be finished until December and I've already bought this kit, and a smoking deal on the Ring doorbell pro and Echo Show 2.

I need to put my credit card down and walk away from this site...

I wanted to wait for Black Friday but I can't guarantee it'll be any cheaper or 'better' than the prices I paid.

Any one have any input as to the 14 piece vs 15 piece. Anyone have any experience with the smoke /co sensor , water sensor, panic button? For like $30 more the 15 piece looks like a better deal then the 14 piece. Each of those sensor is at least $30. Less one contact sensor and a keypad. The keypad is $50 and the contact sensor is $20. So that's $70 in the 14 piece and $90 in the 15 piece.

Any opinions?

I was considering the 15-pc but ended up going with the 14-pc bc I feel the second keypad and extra sensor is more valuable to me. Plus, I didn't want to spend over $300. To each their own.

Same as the last guy. The keypad might be useful in another room or motion sensor on a second story. Really your choice. I'll be adding the smoke detector as well.

I wonder if the motion sensor can sense motion without tripping the alarm system and instead be used as a trigger to turn on a light or something? Like turning the lights in the garage on when you come home.

I'm currently a SimpliSafe customer/user. I'm growing dissatisfied with it esp with competition heating up and more choices out. To be fair, in 2013 I considered them ground-breaking, innovative, and potentially industry disrupting.

Fast forward to 2019, with more and more competition, they still seem to be stuck in 2013 with slightly updated hardware-- but practically the same or falling behind others in different areas. I truly thought that they'd continue to lead in innovating in this area.

I'm seriously looking to phase them out of my home but is Ring a better solution than Simplisafe. Have anyone switched from Simplisafe to Ring yet and can comment on the experience (or regret).

Anyone know what's in the 15 piece package? Pics look diff vs 14 piece. Looks like one less keypad and door sensor, replaced with fire and CO alarm and something else?
Yeah I noticed it's got smokes and flood sensors in the pic but the amazon picture is lot the same as what is showing up on here. What is actually listed is correct, just ignore the slickdeals picture
