- Activate the device on the same email address that you bought the device on.
- While ordering, take the screenshots of pages that you think are important if you want to fight with google if anything is screwed up with the promotion eligibility.
- If you are using a googlevoice on the email account you are planning on using Fi, you will loose googlevoice. Go create a new email account if you want to retain your googlevoice number.
- Call forwarding from googlevoice to GoogleFi won't work. Just FYI.

It's not a terrible price with the $100 credit, but kinda overpriced at $400 alone. Enthusiasts will get it for the updates and the out of box camera quality...but something like a Galaxy S9 with the gcam mods will run circles around this thing for roughly the same price.
