"de direct"? I could care less about spelling on the internet but your post struck me as odd, given your critique of someone who took the time out of their day to answer a question that could have just as easily have been googled. I'm mean if you're going to start giving people a hard time make sure you are on top of your own posts..
I was telling you about my experience of bucket vs shelf. I don't know if the one you are referring to but am guessing you know if it's a bucket or shelf are, making my reply useful.
In my experience, only the top food browns. So the ones with shelves work a ton better than the bucket style.

The problem with toaster oven styles is they take up a lot of counter space, vs basket style air fryers are much more portable for easily storing elsewhere, thus less cluttered counters. It's a trade off.
That's an optical illusion. This one is 11.26 in in diameter, my toaster oven style is basically 13in wide. It's effectively the same size on your counter.

The main difference is square with a front door, or a bucket that is open on top... and the ability to have multiple shelves of brown air fried food vs a bucket that only browns the top layer when you pile food in to it.. Wink

Zero. The outside doesn't get that hot. I used it at 400 degrees for 20 min. I was able to put my hands on the sides and top of the unit without any issues.

My Cuisinart 260 toaster oven is 11"x21"x18". It's by far much larger & I'm not about to do something foolish by adding another large box on my counter just so I don't waste 30 sec to fill a chicken. LOL.

You are not looking at mini oven style air fryer.

I paid about $50 for my mini oven style air fryer at Walmart and it's down near 12 wide. Mine is no longer available.

But here's an example of an oven style. This one is only a couple inches wide than the bucket on this Slickdeals post. Yet the oven style will give you multiple shelves that all Brown. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Cuisin.../561126452

Air Fryer is one of the best investments I've ever made. I haven't used stove in almost 4 months. I now eat air fryer chicken with other foods everyday and still lose weight. My body fat was at 13.2% on 1/20/19. Now I'm at 11.7% on 5/14/19. By the end of the month I should be at 10% body fat. The weight loss benefit plus it being a time saver is a good deal. I have the Chefman Rotisserie Air Fryer and Cuisinart Air Fryer.
Agree, best appliance we ever bought, use it for cooking/reheating almost every thing. No issues with peeling, and easy to clean. Just be sure to start out using cooking times 50 percent shorter than an oven. These cook FAST.

Doesn't look as if you can fit a 5 lb whole chicken in there, though. That's what I do with my 6 qt bucket style, and why I bought it.

Mini oven style air friers can be smaller or much larger than that, if you want.

I've seen them rated up to 12 lb turkey's! And they can have rotisseries too. (And will Brown multiple shelves of food when you need it to)

Either way, this post is not a 6qt bucket.

Right, this post is about a bucket air fryer. Shelf styles have the mesh racks & not very easy to clean. Plus a lot of splattering inside that box. My Gourmia, which has the same non-stick coating of the bucket, is a cinch to clean in hot soapy water & a soft Dobie pad. I use mine once a week for the past 6 months and haven't seen peeling of the coating. Likely the same coating is on this model. Over 2000 five star reviews on Costco is positive for this air fryer. 👍

Do the much more expensive Philips Air Fryers have any advantage over these cheap clones? Or are they now just considered ovepriced original innovators?
Yes , the Philips air fryers are better than this. I own both. In the Philips air fryer the food items at the bottom and at the stand both cook equally good. In the others only the food items on the stand cook faster and better than the ones on the bottom.

My first air fryer was a bucket style. I wish someone pointed out to me that I could cook multiple layers of different food, and it would all get brown/crispy if I bought the shelf style instead of the bucket style. Hence my post here.

For the record, I use my shelf style three to four times a week, and have never had issues with cleaning anything. It's nonstick, easy, and takes seconds. (faster than my old bucket style was in fact) For really sloppy foods, I use a pressure cooker.

For things like chicken, fish, french fries, vegetables, you name it, I can do it all in one cycle so everyone eats at the same time, and everything is brown and crispy. A bucket often means 1 food at a time, unless you want to mix it all up.

I'll never buy a bucket style again.

The Air Fryer is such a fad item......it is in essence a glorified convection toaster oven. I tested 2 different models for 3 months last year and basically determined that it sucks at really replacing a deep fryer and its ideal use is for heating premade frozen snacks.

Get a convection toaster oven....it will be more useful.

I also thought the air fryer would save counter space but when you really do the measurements......it only saves space vs the largest toaster ovens.
