While the initial runs of these machines had issues the company has been very responsive in sending out replacements parts.
If you were looking to make your own retropi/mame cabinet… I challenge you to find Controls and Cabinet for less than $75. There are a number of Facebook Groups and at least one Sub-Reddit dedicated to helping you you get the most out of your purchase.
Prices as low as $75, seen some $150's out there too in ZIP 27612

Centipede is a vertical oriented screen, Asteroids is standard 5:4 aspect ratio... both have unique controls compared to the other cabs, an experience that's less common than joystick controls in other types of games these guys are putting out. If it's your thing, I'd grab these while they are available, or perhaps the 12-in-1 Atari cab if it goes on clearance.
It sounds like a majority of the Centi trackball issues are easy to resolve with a bit of lubrication and minor alignment tweaks, but since they are under warranty for a year I'm not worried about it either way.
The Arcade1UP Riser [brickseek.com] has been seen as low as $9 in some areas, $22.50 in others... and of course for the unlucky ones, still full price!
This cabinet is finally sub $100, which is where it should be. It should be $125 with control plexiglass cover and riser. These never should have been $200 plus. But now that they are coming down, I picked up an Asteroids and it is cool for the price.

Now I have a Rasp Pi 3B+ in a NESPi case running RetroPi, X-Arcade controller, some USB console controllers, etc. Over 10,000 console and MAME games at my fingertips. I also have a full size Pinball PinMAME cabinet [vpforums.org]. I am a computer, electronic, and arcade junkie so I know what I'm doing and what I'm talking about. The Arcade1UP is a neat idea, but poorly executed and cheaply made. I'm not sure what they are replacing or fixing if you call them, but if it was a bit more sturdy to begin with, it would have been better. At $75, it may be more worth it for kids to destroy - it's cheaper than an iPad or cell phone!
And I'm in this thread to warn people (as many others have) that these cabinets are not what they probably think they are! Not saying some people won't enjoy them, just putting the reality of how small, cheap, and poor quality these are out there.
