These are totally worth it.

I've gone through a few cheap "instant reads" that took 15+ seconds to get accurate temps.

I have only ever bought the cheap $5-$10 thermometer's in the past and i have been getting more and more frustrated by them. I'll give this a shot. Hopefully it lives up to the reviews.
