Canon Refurbished store has the EOS T7i DSLR Camera with 18-55 IS STM Kit Lens for $558.99. Canon refurbs are usually high quality, low shutter count and practically indistinguishable from new.
The best deals for Canon are usually around Black Friday (printer combos) but this is a nice price for someone looking for a T7i. This camera is a step up from T6i as it supports more Autofocus points and Dual Pixel AF
A good companion for the kit lens is the Canon 50mm 1.8 STM (available for 100$ on the refurb store)

I shoot both 1080p and 4k video and you would be surprised at how close visually they are to each other. In blind testing, many get them wrong. The 4k files are freaking HUGE and definitely not as easy to post process as 1080. What I'm saying is don't rule out 1080p video. Canon has the edge over Nikon with regards to video Auto Focus..smooth as butter when zooming and holds the focus steady.
Fact is you won't go wrong with this T71 or actually most any camera as they are all very capable tools of which need to be learned to master. It's pretty easy and certainly fun. Go visit are real camera shop, handle the various models in your price range, take a sd card and shoot some images and it will all come together to help you choose. I've shot paid events for a few years and right away you will never see pro's arguing this camera vs that camera is better..it's all about skills, technique, post processing to flatter the subject. Take some classes and you will quickly learn the things that will give your the "wow" images.

The one in your link is an EU model which has no US warranty. Canon Refurbs have 1 year Canon Limited warranty

Note: if one is current or former military there is pricing available that is lower than grey. Sorry, can't remember the name but it's been posted here on SD.
That's a good alternative to Canon warranty.
