Warbonnet Eldorado Netted Camping Hammock $75 (40% off)

Warbonnet is holding a Memorial Day sale and their Eldorado bugnetted hammock is on sale starting from $75 (lightweight and dual layer models are more, but also on sale). Add on tree straps with sliding buckles for $15.

This is a full length 11' high quality camping hammock made in the USA. A netted hammock of this quality is rarely ever below $100.

Also notable, they have some other hammocks, tarps and quilts on sale as well. The Eldorado features the biggest discount.

Just a little background on camping hammocks...

Eno hammocks and the China-made hammocks which pop up for $15-50 are good for lounging around but aren't long enough to be really comfortable overnight.

Really good quality camping hammocks, like this one, are generally American made, 11' long (which allows you to diagonally stretch across the hammock in a fairly flat position, and not "banana" up your body). They also often have bugnets, and a ridgeline to make the hammock sag at just the right angle when hung.

Warbonnet specifically is known for being high quality and very comfortable, with a "foot box" which is an extra long area of the hammock which sticks out, allowing you to really stretch out.

There are plenty of other great hammock vendors out there (Dream Hammock, Simply Light Designs, etc) but this is bar none the best deal I've seen on a netted, quality, comfortable camping hammock.

If camping in cool weather, you should bring a pad into the hammock with you (and if you buy the dual layer version of this hammock, you can slide it between the layers), and the Superfly tarps (also on sale) are great for rainy nights. There's great forums online if you're really interested in knowing more; check out HammockForums.net and the Reddit hammock camping sub.

My recommendation for a great all-around setup: Eldorado hammock + the $15 strap/buckle suspension (it connects the hammock to the trees) + Superfly. Great for car camping, backpacking, thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail, whatever.

I have two warbonnet hammocks (ridgerunner and blackbird XL) and can vouch for their quality and comfort. These are great for casual to serious hammockers and great for backpacking too. You will need a tarp and insulation (under quilt or pad) and potentially an over quilt as well.
Having a footbox makes this hammock much more comfortable than other 11 footers and eliminates knee strain that can occur for back sleepers on other gathered end hammocks.

Most double hammocks are not designed for two people to comfortably sleep in. Lounging for more than 10-20 minutes is about it. For two or more people sleeping you're looking at the Clark Jungle Hammock [junglehammock.com]or one of the Tentsile hammock tents [tentsile.com]. I have the Tentsile Stingray and it is amazing for places that have 3 trees spaced correctly. We take it everyone on vacation, but also have to bring a backup in case there aren't suitably spaced trees. They are, however, almost an order of magnitude more expensive than the Eldorado.

The two that Nasaman mentioned are the only ones I'm aware of. Most people will buy two singles setups, and if you desire, hang the hammocks from the same trees (Dutchware sells some hardware to spread them apart slightly) under a large tarp.

^^^ Thanks nasaman and QFT!!! Both look really cool (and cozy). I got an Eldorado just to initiate myself to hammock camping. Getting off the ground would be ideal in the often too wet environs of the PNW but it seems there is minimal weight savings to my current setup. That Stingray does look cool as F though hanging over that river! Doesn't seem like it would weigh 25 lbs though even with the straps

Enjoy your Eldorado! I neglected to mention that Warbonnet also sells an accessory (fishhook) that functions similar to Dutchware's Whoopie hooks. I have a pair, but haven't tried them for separating two hammocks on the same two trees. Hammocks really won't lower your shelter weight much, if at all, but do increase comfort substantially.
I can confirm the Stringray weighs a lot, largely due to the 3 beefy rachets you need to tension it correctly.

I'm big into lightweight camping... when compared to ground setups, you can very close to an ultralight shelter setup but it's usually just a little heavier (by a few ounces unless it's very cold weather... then the underquilts start getting a good deal heavier than a ground sleeping pad).

Either way it's mostly a comfort choice. If you like the Eldorado but want to go lighter, there's plenty of 11' hammock options that are made to be lighter. A 1.0 weight hammock with a net can be done around 16 ounces total, and there are ~3oz suspensions as well.

Brandon at Warbonnet is 100% g2g. I own 3 of his hammocks and two tarps. Absolute top of the line in quality and performance.

I want but own so many hamocks. Recently got a couple kammoks. Don't know if I spelled that right. I hear theyre decent on quality. Previously I loved grand trunk, theyre warranty was awesome and a nice product for the price.
