Spending over $450 on any cellphone is a brain dead decision unless you like throwing away money. There was just a deal for the ZTE Axon M which just came out a year and a half ago. It was released for $725. It was on sale for $128 brand new a few days ago. It basically lost $600 in value in a year and a half. The cellphone market is incredibly saturated. That's why Apple is hurting right now.

They have practically tried to give the 360 camera away so them bundling it and claiming it is worth $200 is silly. I also don't think this is a very good price unless you are heavily invested in the moto mod ecosystem.

Yeah, it seems they are throwing in the mod they are most overstocked on (because no one wants it). It's retailing for $50, and I've seen them sell for as little as $30.

The battery and wireless charging mods are the most worthwhile, but of course they aren't giving those away.

Eh, it depends on what the individual uses their phone for. Personally I wouldn't spend $450 on a midrange phone. Some features like being able to record HQ voice recordings are valuable to me, since quality mics don't come cheap.

Your point is good but not the Axon M example. Quirky and useless dual display.
Moto Z phones are excellent. I use a Z2 force daily and it's my favorite of all time. Was a true slick deal at $120.

Z4 at $400 with 10% discount is same as pixel 3a at full price. No deal

Good to see Lenovo put a bigger battery in the Z. Didn't want to add the bulk of the battery mod so I ended up selling both my Z2 Forces.
