Saw a new sign at Walmart that looks pretty interesting. There's no dates on it, and I can't find any info on the deal anywhere which tells me that someone probably screwed up and put the sign out too soon....but anyway.

Seems like a pretty good deal for AT&T network:

$50/mo. but $40 with autopay:
- UNL Talk & Text
- 25GB High Speed Data then 2G
- Hotspot included
- Mexico and Canada roaming included

2 lines would be $70, 3 lines would be $100, 4 lines would be $120, and 5 lines would be $140.

Looks like this deal is only at Walmart - everywhere else has 16GB data offer and it requires autopay. This offer looks like it doesn't require auto-pay.

I ported over from Sprint last night and I just entered my Sprint number (now on AT&T) to log in to the AT&T Prepaid website. Still the same password I was using.

I activated the phone online, where you're assigned a new number. Once bonus data showed up (5 days), I called AT&T and had them port my current number over from Sprint. It took about 45 minutes to port over. I am now using my old Sprint phone number on my new AT&T account with 25GB of data woot

GREAT SUCCESS - SHE NAICE!!!!

======================
Details

Thanks for renewing your plan. We've added 17GB of bonus data to your account. Bonus data does not rollover. Be sure to stay enrolled on the $50 plan to continue getting bonus data every month. Enjoy!
======================

Recap...

Coming from Cricket
1. Purchased phone and activated
2. Waited for bonus
3. Ported number and switched to my main phone (Had to get new sim from ATT store)
4. Lost bonus data
5. Put sim back in to Walmart phone
6. Called #611 and explained the situation. Verified that the IMEI reports as Walmart phone and said that I just have to get the bonus data again.
7. Got bonus data again
8. Switched sim to my main phone.
9. Bonus data renewed to 17GB 2 days after cycle

My current T-Mobile prepaid is ending tonight and I don't think I'll be able to set up this new line and port over in time. Wished I had seen this sooner because I don't know if it's worth it to pay $40 for a new month on my current line as well as activate a new line. Feels wasteful.

downgrade to a low plan on a different carrier or on tmobil...

•Sprint's Unlimited Kickstart plan: $25/month for unlimited everything.

•Ting's 20GB plan: $20/month (limited time offer)

and transfer to att once you get the bonus data

but port out takes minutes to days..best bet is to get on lowest tmobil plan and wait for att to award bonus

Thanks, appreciate the response. I read somewhere on this thread that this is ending the first week in September but also saw someone else say October. Would you happen to also know when this ends as the phone will take a few days to arrive as well.

EDIT: Found this

"All offers, promotions, pricing, terms, restrictions & conditions subject to change & may be modified, discontinued, or terminated at any time without notice."

nobody knows....as your quote says "any time without notice"....should end soon but if it goes like Sprint free plan (expiration on that one was pushed more than a year) is anyone's guess

Because either sim size doesnt match walmart phone or he wants to return walmart phone and needs the sim

That's why his promo went to shit...when you fiddle with the sim you lose it...keep the same sim and you are fine

I'm about 95% sure the promo page said "Expires September 8th" back when I started the deal process a few weeks ago. Now there's no specific date listed. So how long it'll keep running is anyone's guess.

If the expiry date is truly Sept 8 (or Sept 6 like a rep told someone here), does the bonus data has show up before the expiry date or is it fine as long as you activate before the expiry date?

likely if you activate before that date...If they do not give me the bonus data, I will just file an FCC/BBB complaint.. that usually gets their attention fast.

I think this was asked before but I can't find it. My old number has an area code that is not available at my current address. How can I get a new number with this old area code when I activate this new phone???? I read that porting your old number to the new account won't work if area codes are different.
