in mind is the weight of the suitcase itself. Samsonite is ok for durability, but they generally weigh more. If you ever check bags, having a heavier case is a big downside for me because it reduces what you can pack. I bought 8 of this same style 10 years ago, and they have held up well (dozens of trips around the world). They are good, but I've moved more towards the hard shell lighter suitcases.
I bought a very similar piece directly from Samsonite. The TSA lock broke on the very first trip. They wanted me to drive 4hrs to the nearest authorized repair center. Or, I could PAY for the parts to do it myself ($31). I used to have a repair center in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Now there are zero in all of Oklahoma. Have to drive to Dallas. In other words, I basically have no warranty.

How is this deal compared to Costco deal? $160

And then cheaper version of the same set for $99

Here it is with a few more extras $170

I think Samsonite makes few different quality lines, I am sort of bored with Samsonite, is there a comparable quality brand?
In terms of weight, I've seen hard side ones that are lighter than soft ones.

I travel with my 22" carry-on and am looking for one that is lighter. I read about IT. Have you used it? What do you think? From the pictures, the handles look kind of weird to me. And I'd prefer 4 wheels than 2 but I guess that's a trade off for a lighter suitcase.
Not dead. I even see it in my cart (not Checkout) "Discount $6.20"
The same model of Samsonite? Care to share the link here?
