After a lengthy chat conversation with the customer service where I tried to raise my point that a confirmation email when an order is placed is a CONTRACT between the seller and buyer in which both agree on the purchasing price of an item and that the seller can't just secretely charge extra money (after the order has been placed) without notifying their customer and having their agreement about those extra charges.
Here's how they finally affirm the legitimacy of their shady practice:
"We charge the items when we ship not when the orders were placed."
I understand that the amount of money in these order is negligible, but I can't just digest it. They secretely charged extra money after the orders were placed and defended this practice. How so?
=====
Additional details:
- This is 1 time order, not S&S.
- Each order contains 1 item.
- The reason I posted this is for you to be aware of your purchases from amazon and don't completely trust them. Once in a while, double check your orders history. I need to say this is the first time it happened to me. The bad thing is amazon sees nothing wrong with it.
This does happen every now and then. Sometimes its a seller that doesnt want to honor their promo codes, other times its for no reason than price being different at shipping time.
You can call again and get lucky in avoiding the charge. Mostly they dont expect you to notice it.
I believe if you do "Subscribe and save", the first delivery would be based on the price at the moment that you've subscribed. However, the following deliveries would be priced based on the price at the later shipping dates.
That being said, if this was a second or further delivery of a S&S, it's fine. But if they charged extra for a one-time order or the first delivery of a S&S, there's a problem here!
ALSO, You need to wait a few days to see if those charges are finalized or not. Your orders are for June 12 and 13 and it's early to judge.
I hope this is helpful.

Yeah, I would have said this is NOT a S&S order. That's why I feel this practice is shady.
For the order numbers you listed, were there any other items in the order? two charges would seem to indicate you purchased two items, but if it was a single item order and you are seeing two charges, that is concerning...
