From item description: "The Carnival Cruise Gift Card is a pre-paid gift card similar to a gift certificate that can be used as payment toward a cruise booking on any of Carnival Cruise Line's ships, online pre-purchases of shore excursions, spa experiences and Fun Shop gifts or toward your Sail & Sign onboard account."
You can request they be removed on the last night if the cruise, but don't be an asshole. It would be like going to a restaurant and not tipping.
Gift cards can be used as cash on any Carnival Cruise Line so you can use it for booking, paying deposits or excursions, buying stuff on the Carnival website and putting the amount onto your sign and sail card.
Gift cards can be bought for $90 for $100 gift card or $450 for $500 gift card at AARP Rewards for Good website with points and also Allstate. I recommend the cruisecritic website for discussion on cruising.
Salary?? Just like bartenders and waitresses?? Do you tip them?? Stay HOME please..and ...don't go out to eat.

If you know you're going and need them now, it's better than no discount.
although you may lose some credit card protections if you don't pay full amount on your CC. some CC have travel protection etc
Add the gift cards to your account at check in, head to a slot machine in the casino, charge your room on the machine for the value of your gift card, and head to the service desk in the casino to cash out.
Easy money maker
Or just use to cover gratuities at the end of the cruise...

Be Honest. are gratuities necessary? can I put $0 at the end? I can't get a clear answer and the customer service agent at Carnival just referred me to "prepay grat"

You could...you could always tip accordingly, but don't tip 0 just to save a couple of bucks...

Great idea but do you have to play @ slots/ gamble or can I just cash out right away?
If I have to play I'll just bet on black and red... and hope I don't get green...
