I have two of these in rental homes. Although they look nice, they're very basic - no moisture sensor, so the reheat function is based on the type of food being reheated rather than the steam coming off it.
It can with a little modification (I have done this once with an over-the-range oven where nothing similar was available in a countertop version), but why bother? You can get a better countertop model for less. Here's one example[amazon.com].
Actually, I take that back; it may not work as a countertop model even with modification; it has to be heavy enough so that opening the door doesn't cause it to tilt forward, and I'm not sure that this is. Go with a countertop model and save yourself a lot of headache.

Did you buy it with a credit card? If so, you may still have an extended warranty from that card.
Good call out, but unfortunately my house was new construction, so this is what it came with. No cc purchase and no typical appliance warranty by the seller since they were all brand new.

The one that I had lasted me about 16 years. Hopefully, it lasts long likewise.
16 years, Wow! I've never had an over the range hood last more than 3 or 4 with constant warranty repair no matter the price point. When I had my high-end one fixed the first time, the repair guy said "We'll be seeing a lot of you over the next few years, hope you got the extended warranty. Over the range units don't hold up well in kitchens that do a lot of cooking." He was right. We just remodeled and put in a professional vent hood and moved the microwave to a wall on the other side of the room.

Installation is a pain like any over the range but so far so good. Runs pretty quietly as well.
