Thundernews has its Independence Week Special on. 18-month unlimited usenet for $25. Quite a deal.
So, $1.40 per month for a year and a half of unlimited usenet. Usenet is garbage these days since these media firms caught onto it, but it sometimes comes in handy.
Currently, I have a Thundernews account for $4/monthly, so that's $72 for 1.5 years. If I hop on this deal, and cancel my current plan, that's a savings of $47.
Not bad, though Thundernews will probably be $10 monthly by the time my deal runs out. So to ponder if this is worth the risk losing a $4 monthly account.
I wouldn't mind paying a partial premium for Usenet if it was still in it's glory days, but the shape usenet's in, I'm only willing to pay the least amount possible.

Similar boat, don't want to risk losing my $4 no forever plan.
However disagree with you about usefulness. Even though I pay for cable, still easier to manage my shows via Plex. Other stuff as long as your quick

Same backbone as Astraweb, newsdemon, etc. Don't get this if you have any of those already (unless the deal is a bit better).
which is better?
I have block at usenetexpress and it is very fast...not sure about thunder or how their retention compares
