Thanks, this is beginning to be a lot more trouble than I had hoped just to save a few bucks.

I originally bought an Autel Maxiscan MS300 for $18 many years ago. Works flawlessly every car I've ever tried. I bought another one from a China seller recently for $11, and it doesn't work with one of my cars. That scanner appeared as Newegg's deal of the day once a well, despite being from a Chinese seller.

Apparently a lot of these scanners are actually discontinued, and the ones from China are counterfeit. So I'm trying to spend a little extra money and buy from the official store of the manufacturer.

So right now I'm debating on the Autel Maxiscan MS309 for $21 (plus I need a filler for free shipping), or this, the Ancel AD310 from Ancel_Diag seller, which I assume is the official store for $26 from Newegg. but they're based out of China too? Their ebay store has U.S. Stock but it's $2 more. Amazon is seller them for $31.50 after coupon.

I don't need anything fancy, just don't want another scanner that isn't going to work with a car when I need it.

So I was seriously considering buying this after doing a ton more research.

However, the Newegg Flash has a ton of disclaimers. I know the scanner will work on most cars, but it says

"Not works with Trucks, Pickups, Vans."

"1. American (USA) car:
Compatible with Standard OBD2 Cars after 2001
for Chrysler, Ford, GM, Jeep"

"4. Asian (Japanese/Korean) car:
Compatible with Standard OBD2 Cars after 2005
(if your car is in 2004 2005 2006 release, please contact us first)
for KIA, Isuzu, Honda, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, Dacia, Lexus, Mazda, Subaru, Toyota
for Nissan after 2008
for Suzuki after 2012
Not support for Ssangyong"

That's ridiculous, then it wouldn't work on my 2001 Civic apparently.

The fake Chinese one (Autel Maxiscan 300) I got didn't work on a Ford Truck either, and the seller tried to tell me a Truck isn't a car and it wasn't suppose to work.

My old Autel Maxiscan 300 worked fine on that truck. Because it's a genuine one I got 4-5 years ago.

So I'll pass on that one I guess. It's a shame though, cuz I'm pretty sure it'll work. I dunno what all those disclaimers are for. Just covering their butt I guess.

Saw the interface, and a little too many button presses to get a code for me.

And also, tax is killing it for me. Newegg started charging tax in my state July 1st. So did ebay, and it's making everything less attractive to buy.
