Unlike other Verizon or other service provider bundle, tou get this as an unlocked phone. Take it out, put any sim and you are good to go, even without activating it first on verizon. Service cancellation within 3 days attracts no charge
Unless you are looking for a new line or account, an early cancellation of service at Verizon would not attract any addition charges. Ao you get the phone for $85, tax paid

Cancellation isn't tough since the phone is paid upfront, and there is no commitment for the service
