This is definitely one of the best PIA deals if you do the 3-year subscription. At the 3-year rate, the only deal I can think of that is better was the 3-year subscription for $44.98 and 5-year subscription for $69.98 in January 2018; I don't think that deal will be coming around anytime soon, if ever again.

PIA is my favorite VPN provider. That said, your usage situations may be different from mine, so it's difficult to recommend PIA to everyone.

PIA has been great for me. I love being able to use the proxy in the browser or in qbittorrent. I created a review/tutorial in case you're on the fence about it:

I have been deciding between Nord and PIA. Have been using PIA for a couple years and liked them, but they are blocked a lot places.

On the flip side, Nord is blocked significantly less (for now), is a little faster for me consistently, but lacks per app customization settings.

Further, I use iOS and Android devices and appreciate PIA's simpler protocol switching on iOS. You have to manually configure individual servers for OpenVPN with Nord (but it isn't hard and works well).

Lastly, PIA is cheaper.

I'm torn.

I'm pretty sure you can't. I recall seeing in another deal thread that PIA has to treat these like gift subscriptions and require a new account.

Last time a deal came up, people said they had to contact support and merge accounts. I'm on month-to-month, so I am certainly interested in this as well. Hopefully someone will have better/more info.

Just chatted with a rep. As long as you submit a ticket to their support team after activating the account, as well as the PayPal transaction ID # (I used venmo so they did not require the ID # for me), they can merge the two accounts.

Rep I chatted with says they can as long as you provide the activation key and order ID # on a ticket after activating the new account.

I've been using Windscribe (free version with 50gb a month) and it's horribly slow, although my regular ISP is fast - will this hamper download speeds that much?

I have the paid version and it's very fast. I'm guessing they throttle for non paid users

I believe my friend has their speed limited to about 150mbps, he has a 500mbps connection.
