Many Walmarts have LEGO listed for clearance during this time, go look for the yellow tags. Items and Location vary. YMMV.

Hmm. I would take any lego city set at 30% off. Don't care for star wars or other sets.

I've started measuring price per lb. So many of the new sets are now filled with the little flat single pieces or other crap.

Not a bad idea. Can't weigh them until you buy it and bring it home though, makes it kind of difficult to evaluate?

Needed a couple of sets to start our 6 year old with. Had wanted the train, but couldn't find a deal anywhere.

Thanks to this thread stopped by Wallyworld and found all of the city sets on clearance and picked two:

60215 Fire Station for $40 (was $63)
60216 Downtown Fire Brigade for $75 (was $100)

The fire station set seemed like the highest markdown, both % and $. The fire brigade was the biggest set they carried in store, no city center or train sets. Disappointing selection, but seem like decent prices on clearance.
