If you have the alarm system with protect plus i assume you can add another year to it making the door bell $90.

Edit: as leaird said, dont take my word for it. If you bought a year of protect plus just verify through chat that the free 1year costco will add to that unless someone can verify that it does work

Thank you! I just bought the Ring alarm system and was waiting for this deal for the free 1 year of protect plus. I see that the Ring Doorbell 2 is also $50 off with a free year of protect plus but is priced $50 less than the Ring Pro. I would appreciate any comments as to why I should buy one over the other. We have a wired doorbell now so that isn't a concern with the Ring Pro.

I asked on Ring customer service chat if purchasing two doorbells would give me two years of Protect Plus and was told that they will not combine. Even though they both come with a free year of Protect Plus I would only get 1 free year. I'm not sure how that works with an existing Protect Plus account. You may want to contact customer service to verify instead of assuming that it will add a year. There are cheaper deals out there if you aren't going to get the benefit of the free year of Protect Plus.

The protection plan differences between the "Protect Plus Plan" and the "Protect Basic Plan" are essentially the same except for the "Ring Alarm professional monitoring" in the Plus plan, and that it covers "All Ring devices at one address". Whereas the Basic plan does not have the "professional monitoring" and it overs only 1 Ring device. If anyone is wondering, what "professional monitoring" is, here's what it says:

"Get the most out of Ring Alarm with professional monitoring from Ring Protect Plus. If your Ring Alarm detects a security issue or if you press the Ring Panic Button, help is just a phone call away. Our monitoring team is always here to send emergency services whenever you need it most.

24/7 protection in case of
Break-Ins and Burglaries
Smoke and Carbon Monoxide
Floods and Freezing Temperatures"

So, this protect plus plan would cover the other cameras at the same location. Or does it apply just to this one?

The Protect Plus plan covers all Ring devices at your house. The Basic plan only covers one device. With this Costco deal all of your Ring devices will be covered for 1 year with the Protect Plus plan.

If this is for a house I definitely recommend the pro because you dont have to worry about charging the battery every couple months and it works along with current doorbell chime without needing to buy another ring chime. I have the doorbell 2 because im in an apartment with no doorbell chime.

I have the pro without a chime. I just use my echo dots to alert me.

Does anyone know if the 1-year is a code or auto configured with the device?
