Tell your wife to call my wife. My wife will convince your wife that anything less than two 15" subs in tapped horn enclosures with 500 W RMS each and 12 x 12s split between sealed enclosures and tactile transducers is child's play.
I do love all the people who poo poo these as just "ok".

I find y'alls SVSs adorable, but as somebody who has owned a pair of Def Tech reference supercubes (105lbs, 1500w, down to 11hz), this Infinity SUB12 punches WAY above its weight. It weighs 50lbs and provides excellent power and quality for even a larger room. People also fail to mention the amount of work you need to put in securing your room for a sub20hz woofer. Your lighting fixtures will shake, any art or signs you have hanging will shake, cables within your walls might shake. It's a very big undertaking for people who just want a home theater system.

This infinity will provide deep, powerful bass for about 1/3 the price of the cheapest svs and it looks nice too. Don't listen to the maniacs who think you need dual 15s or that SVS is the only true decision. I swear it's like a cult on here!
Pulled the trigger. I am in between wives, so now is the time!

Why the thumbs down? seems like a little better deal than the R10 for $120 last week. Anyway, I regretted not buying the R10 but now that I see this, I might just pull the trigger on this one. $150-$200 is my price range so thinking about something like this of Klipsch or Dayton Audio's 12".

Harman Audio has the Infinity Reference 12" Subwoofer on clearance for $159.95, an even better option for those that missed out on the 10" deal for $119 that's now sold out. Free ground shipping

-Your new point of reference for high-quality sound As the larger powered subwoofer model in the Reference Series, the SUB R12 adds powerful bass to any music or movie entertainment system. The heart of this subwoofer is the 12" (300mm) fiber-composite driver mated to the 300 Watt (600W peak power) high-power digital amplifier. The solid 0.75" (19mm) construction of the tuned-port subwoofer cabinet with its internal edgeto-edge windowpane bracing provides a firm foundation to reinforce the type of tight, punchy and dynamic deep bass required for high-resolution digital surround and modern popular music. This combination of unyielding structure, high-output digital power and robust driver provides powerful, deep bass response that will make your music and movies come alive. The SUB R12's slender design and elegant details provide a rich appearance that blends well with any décor.-

Probably a disgruntled buyer who recently paid full price for it. Im in exact situation as you, budget and regret not buying the R10 deal. Fyi Amazon has a variety of Klipsch on sale currently.

I kind of had the the same situation with the 10" sub. But with me, I have the 12"sub, plays great, thumps great. I want the 10" sub to put by my couch but....the wife said NO WAY, our walls raddle enough with the 12" sub, lol.

I have this sub and it's fantastic. The 159 price it's a steal. As for the 10 inch sub, I would buy this over R10.

Is the Klipsch 12" subwoofer as good as this one?

It looks better to me since it doesn't have "Infinity" in white written on the front so it would match better with my JBL speakers looks-wise.

300 RMS but thats not bad. Sounds exactly like the polk 505 and price seems inline with polks sale price. Wondering if it has better performance altho i expect it will be somewhere right inline

Here's a few I've had my eye on. Value wise this infinity deal is hard to beat, though it's subjective.
