Craftsman Diamond encrusted screwdriver 6pc. set [sears.com]

The tips have embedded diamonds which help grip the screw. They work very well when new but I don't know how well they'll hold up. At $12 you should get a set, especially if you have points to spend.

Shipping is free at $59 so you're best off picking them up at a store.

How secure are the diamonds? I sometimes use my screwdrivers with a hammer as a stand in chisel.
I wouldn't use them for that. They are for getting a better bite on the fastener, not a impact/demo driver that has a full steel shaft going to where you would hit on top. They are noticeably better than a plan-tipped screw driver, though I like my Wera laser etched a bit more. For $12 I'd pick up a 2nd set, if I didn't already.

I would also they are diamond tipped, not encrusted. lol. makes it sounds like the whole driver was dipped in diamonds.

Since when did they add 'diamond' to the product titles of the extreme grip screwdrivers?

Some have diamonds, some don't. For instance, the one with the replaceable bits [sears.com] is diamond-free.

My question is why they call them "Extreme Grip" without diamonds.

Great reviews on these at both Sears and Amazon. I ordered 5 for pickup (most for gifts since that was a perfect number for using my points and freecash). We will see how many they have...

Thanks OP!

I have a set and love them. They've held up very well and the diamond tips really do help grip screws even if they're partially stripped. Been waiting to get a set for my dad but unfortunately the closest Sears is now 71 miles away.

Well worth it if you have a Sears nearby.

Thanks. I take it you are talking about something like this for $42?

The Sears screwdrivers in this post netted out to about $5 per set (accounting for $50 points as half price plus $10 freecash) for me when buying 5 so hard to pass up.

Shipping is a flat $6.25 which is a lot if you buy 1 but not bad if you buy 4. Pay with $ instead of points and 5 ship free. Your brothers want sets too.

My closest store is 35 minutes away. I can sort of force it to be on the way when I'm going elsewhere. 71 miles is too far.

Sometimes Kmarts and Searses both appear in store pick-up lists.
