This is $4 every 4 weeks for the first year for an All Access digital deal that I got when I chatted with the NY Times subscription support department today. After the first year, it's $12 every 4 weeks thereafter.

Compare this to paying $12.50 every 4 weeks for the first year and then $25 a month thereafter when going through the normal channels for the same package as seen here [nytimes.com].

Also worth noting: the less attractive Basic Access package is $7.50 every 4 weeks and it doesn't give access to NYT Cooking and Crosswords and is more expensive than the deal they gave me. See here [nytimes.com].

This was part of Wirecutter Day on Wednesday and has been going on since. I would argue the $8 per 4 week all-digital subscription is a better deal if you know a second person who also wants to do the deal. The all digital comes with a free bonus subscription.

Checking in...., you can keep this rag.
NYT holds a record number of Pulitzer Prizes more than any other news organizations. This says a lot about the intellectual capability of someone who dismiss it.

Exactly. And the people who are dismissing it probably have never picked it up and read it, and just followed someone else's opinion. Who is the real sheep now?

Thanks OP. Jumped on this because I enjoy crosswords.

I try to get my news from multiple sources, nationally and internationally. All news sources have an agenda. Learn to discriminate rather than complain.

Thanks OP! This is perfect timing for me as my current deal at $4 for 4 weeks ends on 9/15. I had called them on the phone about 15 minutes ago, before seeing this posting, and they wouldn't renew me for another year at the same rate.
