Remember to remove the filter seal before you use it.

Maybe you fart in the middle of the night! LOL, hope you don't mind a little ribbing.

OP thanks for posting this because I bought it last week at a higher price and just had Walmart adjust it down. Replied!
I have had mine for about two years running non stop. It's placed in the living room / kitchen area. On the auto setting it'll ramp up when I'm cooking or smoke is floating around. It's a solid unit. I've blown out the filters once so far when it alerted me. I'd buy this again.
Can anyone comment on the quality/price of this? Especially considering how expensive the filters are.

For context this unit was featured as number one pick by Wirecutter-- has been mentioned in previous posts.

How does it compared to Airmega 400? Will two of these perform better?

I have one of these in the bedroom and an Airmega 400 in the family room. The Airmega is pretty big, so it'll certainly be more obtrusive than two of the 1512 in opposite sides of the room. Can't really test the efficacy, both work well.

Bought this couple months ago around Prime day. Use it in the bedroom. Mostly works ok but couple times at night it would go in high setting and wake me up. Not sure if something happens in the middle of the night causing sensor to go haywire. So now using only during the day. Will work with a smart plug for schedule off and on.

You think the filters are expensive? I've been using a RabbitAir for the last 5 years or so and their replacement filters are like 90- $95 now

You can get 3rd party HEPA and charcoal filters on Amazon for a lot less than OEM. They work just as well.

can't comment on this particular model, but the brand (coway) is legit. they mostly specialize in air purifiers, water filtration systems, and bidet. very popular in korea. i personally have a BUNCH of winix c535's from costco that i get when it's on sale for $100. and my electric company (comed) offers $50 rebate for each (up to 5) so i'm pretty much only paying $50 and it comes with two years worth of hepa/carbon filters). i would check if yours offer any sort of rebate...

that's hard to say. the efficacy of air purifiers i think really comes down to the quality of filter(s)--true hepa, carbon filter--and how well it blows/circulates room air (ACH, air changes per hour). the thing about air purifiers however is that their testings (both company and independent) are often done on highest fan settings. how often do we run these on highest setting? most people have it on automatic or low so it's really not exchanging much air most of the time. so in that regard, perhaps getting two of these smaller rated coway positioned at each end of the room may be better than a single airmega? i don't know....i wish they made glasses where we can visually observe room's airflow...

In case anybody needs to clean a larger space, it looks like Amazon has the Airmega 400 in Black for $365 again, which was the price from Walmart a few weeks ago. I bought one and am very happy with it so far. Filters are more expensive, but you get two for the price (the unit takes two at a time) and cleans a significantly larger volume of air, so cost per cubic foot with the 400 is probably the same or better. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Coway.

Yeah, just bought last week for 161 from Wally. They will adjust the price to this now? Even if out of box?
