I have an RV and this mat is used to keep the amount of dirt you track down going into the camper. Small kids can play on this instead of dirt, also we have inflatable couches which also helps keep off the dirt. So not really sure why you mention shilling go to any RV park and you will see everyone has one and if you ever try to buy one they are 80 dollars plus. Just thought it was a good deal and shared nothing more

You could but most people put them in front of their tent or trailer to reduce the amount of dirt that gets tracked inside.

You just need a tarp. The tarp should be just a few inches smaller than the tent.

Yes, but it's not very soft. It's like woven plastic. Softer and cleaner than dirt /gravel, but not much better than that.
