AMEX Offers: Spend $1,000 or more, get $40 back. Up to 3x. - on top of normal Cashback

I'd be surprised if this wasn't a repost but I can't seem to find it. Regardless, some may have missed it (like me). American Express has an offer for Blue Cash Preferred card holders (and perhaps other cards as well) that needs to be activated on their account. You must activate by November 21st, 2019 and it runs from now until December 5th, 2019. Spend $1000 get a $40 statement credit and you can do it 3x.

Upon first thought I assumed this was minus our normal cashback earnings, however I have verified with one of their CSRs that this is in fact on top of what you normally earn.

Example: Spend $1000 on groceries; earn $60 in cashback due to the 6% normal bonus on groceries, also earn $40 as a statement credit (4% of spending). $100 total cashback earned on $1000 worth of groceries (total of 10% cashback).

TLDR;
Spend $1000, earn $40 statement credit (4% cashback)
You can earn this bonus 3x in the time period (4% cashback on $3000)
Activate by November 21st, 2019
Expires on December 5th, 2019

Get a $40 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $1,000+ in one or more eligible transactions. Must enroll by 11/21/2019 and spend by 12/5/2019. Limit of 3 statement credits. See terms for exclusions.

OFFER TERMS
Enrollment limited. Must first add offer to Card and then use same Card to redeem. Only U.S.-issued American Express® Cards are eligible. Limit 1 enrolled Card per Card Member across all American Express offer channels. Your enrollment of an eligible American Express Card for this offer extends only to that Card. Corporate Cards, and all prepaid card products are not eligible. Offer is non-transferable. An "eligible purchase" means a purchase of at least $1,000 made with your enrolled Card by 12/5/2019.
